Hi Fellow Winos, This is my introduction video to Hip Chicks Do Wine, and their fun summertime, or anytime wine, their "Belly Button" wine. This is a fruity, clean crisp white, that will pair well with cheese dishes, artichoke, and you, relaxing on your deck on a warm summer evening. Visit www.awinetodiefor.com and order some up, you will be pleased you did. Cheers, Gary
I am very pleased with the wines produced by Delfino Vineyards in Roseburg, Oregon. Their estate vineyard also has an excellent Bed & Breakfast, "private" home on it where you can stay, and enjoy both their wines as well as other excellent wineries in the Umpqua Valley. This Zinfandel Rose is just delicious ! I would say it is a perfect summetime wine, but can also work as an "anytime wine". Visit www.awinetodiefor.com and have it shipped to your door, for "Tasting Room" prices. You will be as pleased as I am. Cheers, Gary
On a recent trip to Lake Tahoe, for a little "R&R", i managed to sip a glass or two of Oregon wine while there. Strange how the restaurant's there only serve wines from California and Europe, and a couple from WA state ? Guess distributors are missing the boat ? Funny ! "Missing the boat....in Lake Tahoe" ? Anyway, this is my video tasting of this delightful white Austrian wine. It is very very tasty ! The 2009 is already sold out, but 2010 is coming to www.awinetodiefor.com soon. Watch for it !
My visit to Marks Ridge Winery in Sweet Home, Oregon introduced me to another smaller "Botique" winery, where the owners had "hands on" with all aspects of grape production. They grow their grapes for the sole purpose of making the best tasting wines they can. It's not all about the amount they can produce and sell, but how much of quality they can produce, knowing that the quality will sell. There is a difference. This is exactly why I started A Wine To Die For. To bring these wines to the world ! In my opinion, it's not about "points", "Pinkies extended", or spitting, it's about quality wines you find, that you will love to drink, and pour for those you love.
Spent last weekend in McMinnville, Oregon, attending the "Sip", Wine and Food Classic. It was held at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum. Check out this video, of attendies walking around sipping wine, under a Stealth Bomber ! There were really great wines this year, and "Best of Show" went to Bradley Vineyards, here in the Umpqua Valley ! Nice,
Attended this years event, this is my 12th year in a row. Wouldn't miss it. The Greatst of the Grape is in my opinion, the "classiest" wine event in Southern Oregon. Held in a beautiful conference center at 7 Feathers Casino, a lot of time, money and hard work, produce a special evening. Beautiful dressed up ladies, fine wines, excellent food pairings with area restaurants, just one fine night out.
